
CEDDEC is the European Confederation of Shoe Retail Trade Associations.
CEDDEC represents all major National Footwear Federations in the European Union, and also in a number of observing countries in Central and Eastern Europe. At present CEDDEC (European Confederation of the Shoe Retail Trade Associations) represents 13 footwear Federations, with more than 80,000 footwear shops in the E.U., and 6 observer Federations.
In terms of structure, CEDDEC is headed by a Chairman, whose responsibilities involve general coordination of CEDDEC activities, management of the general assembly, and safeguarding of CEDDEC working rules.

The executive committee is made up by the Presidents of member countries’ national Federations.
Member Federations:
Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Italy, Norway, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, Greece, United Kingdom, Czech Republic.
Observer members:
Sweden, Portugal, Spain, Hungary, USA.
CEDDEC objectives:
CEDDEC, and its member National Federations, are not directly involved in the shoe trade themselves, nor do they have interests in it.
This Confederation acts in the interest of the business people it represents, with the support of its member National Federations. Its objectives are the following:
1) Protecting the moral and economic interests of the shoe trade sector;
2) Analyzing and solving the economic and social problems of the shoe trade sector it represents;
3) Representing the shoe trade sector at all levels, with all Authorities, and in particular at European Union level, where it will help define and solve any problematic issues in the interest of the shoe trade sector;
4) Promoting and implementing initiatives aimed at developing and increasing commercial exchanges within the shoe trade sector it represents;
5) Safeguarding and promoting the development of footwear business people Associations and Buying Groups;
6) Appointing and/or suggesting trade shoe sector representatives with any body or board where such representation is envisaged or requested;
7) Exerting any other function it may be called upon to take on as a result of laws, regulation or dispositions by the competent Authorities;
8) Assist members who request assistance for the safeguarding of their interests;
9) Promoting initiatives aimed at enhancing professional, technical and union training for shoe trade sector members, and promoting the training of people willing to become entrepreneurs in the footwear trade sector.
