I was born on the 18th of januari in 1966 in Aphen a/d Rijn and grew up in Eindhoven. I studied fashion & design on the Academy of Arts in Arnhem and started to make handcrafted shoes in my studio at the age of 23. After 5 years of exposing my own shoes in fashiongaleries and gaining experience as a freelance designer for Sacha. I started as designer for the famous dutch brand Bronx. After 2 years I created some remarkable slingback- & sandal moccassin designs for Mag Megamoks which were never seen before and copied as hell. After 3 more years I managed the whole collection of Wrangler Footwear. After that I took a sabbatical and started to devellop my own collection with the help of my friends in shoebiz. This coöperation came to glory with the shoes you see on my webpage www.hestervlamings.com Slowly more people get to know my typical sober but strong Dutch Designs.

1965 - 1973 working and training for lady shoe designer in my father's atelier
I'm second generation elegant lady shoe designer. I have a broad experience in this field. I do not only design high quality elegant lady shoes, but I am also able to take care of sourcing and production. Due to my background I can get you in touch with excellent factories in countries like Turkey and Greece. I worked some years in Athens and Istanbul as a pattern maker and designer for hand made small lady shoe ateliers. My most recent experience is from the USA, where I acquired a wider development in the machine production of lady shoes. I was employed as a pattern maker and designer, both free lance and under contract, for several factories in New York and all around the USA, which factories had a capacity of approx. 5000 pair of shoes a day.
