The mood at Francal has raised expectations of increased sales in the future. There was an air of optimism about business evelopments for the Brazilian shoe industry at the 47th edition of the Francal International Shoe and Accessories Fashion Fair in São Paulo.
On the occasion of Francal Heitor Klein, CEO of the Brazilian shoe association Abicalçados, stressed that the national industry needed to boost exports again in the second half of the year.
In view of the export potential of Brazilian shoes and more favourable conditions thanks to a stronger dollar Klein felt a change was underway. He also said that external markets were already showing signs of recovery even if it would only be possible to assess exact scenarios after the forthcoming international trade shows like GDS – Global Destination for Shoes & Accessories in Düsseldorf and Micam in Italy. However, looking at the month of June alone there was already a 4.2% rise in Brazilian shoe exports compared to the month of May.
GDS – Global Destination for Shoes & Accessories
In line with this trend shoe manufacturers from Brazil will be presented at GDS with over 10 firms and over 20 brands.
The 2015 Summer edition featured the following labels: Aleka, Anatomic & Co, Beira Rio, Comfortflex, Grendha, Ipanema, Kea, LolliQueen, Modare, Moleca, Molekinha, Piccadilly, Piccadilly for Girls, Ramarim, Renata Mello, Rider, Sapatoterapia, Starzinho, Super Star, Suzana Santos, Wirth, Whoop, Vizzano und Zaxy.
Shows & Events:
The Brazilian shoe specialists will use numerous initiatives at both GDS itself and in Düsseldorf city centre to attract, entertain and surprise trade visitors and spectators ….
For the trade audience at GDS BRAZILIAN FOOTWEAR will be organising a BRAZILIAN FOOTWEAR SHOW at 1.00 pm on Wednesday and Thursday on the catwalk in Hall 10 where labels like Anatomic & Co, Beira Rio, Grendha, Ipanema, LolliQueen, Modare, Moleca, Piccadilly, Renata Mello, Rider, Suzana Santos, Vizzano and Zaxy will stage their individual innovations for Spring/Summer 2016 with suitable styling.
The show will feature all key trends for the 2016 Spring/Summer season:
For instance, white soles will be a key ‘must-have’. These will feature not just on sneakers but also loafers, booties, mules and sandals. Shiny metallic styles, not too loud, often only with a metallic touch will also be in evidence. Another trend interpreted by different brands
in a variety of ways are floral looks. Coloured floral patterns, for instance on linen and canvas, also in a mix with leather, give sneakers & slip-ons a light, summery twist. In the wake of the hippie wave clogs are obviously a must-have. The most diverse variations are presented here from natural leather and terracotta earth tones through to clogs in strong colours and styles with floral prints, platforms and Cuban heels. These are ideal companions
for flared jeans. Also on display is a very wide range of espadrilles, wedges, platforms or slip2 ons. For next summer’s festival visits or your next holidays there are many variations with fringes – for instance on booties and sandals in cognac-coloured suede. Other must-haves are high front designs. Everything that highlights the ankle works perfectly with culottes and cropped trousers with a wide hem, also with somewhat higher heels to elongate the leg!
Other trends that Brazilian shoe manufacturers have given their own stylish signature twist to are 60s-style sandals – whether with thick bandage straps in colour blocking or in candy colours, Cuban heels are what determine the feminine styles. Also in evidence are gladiator sandals in different variations from flats to high heels – with the hottest styles for next season reaching up to the knees.
