In February, FRANCAL participates in IFLS (Colombia), GDS (Germany) e theMicam (Italy) to attract international buyers and stimulate exports of Brazilian shoes.
Not even a month after opening its international calendar at Expo Riva Schuh, in Italy, FRANCAL 2016 travels to same places to experience a true marathon of international fairs of the sector: IFLS, in Colombia, GDS, in Germany, and theMicam, in Italy with a well-defined purpose: to bring more international buyers and increase the business opportunities for exhibitors that export.
To attend the events, disclose the quality and competitiveness of the Brazilian shoes, make networking with buyers from all over the world and invite them to visit FRANCAL, set strategic partnerships with chambers of commerce of potential markets – these are some of the strategic measures of the Brazilian fair by passing through all these events, aiming to increase footwear exports.
Colombian IFLS takes place on February 2 to 5, in Bogotá. On the other side of the Atlantic, German GDS and Italian TheMicam are going to occur on February 10 to 12 and 14 to 17, respectively. Together those fairs host millions of importers from the five continents, all of them potential buyers of the national product, especially now, when the US dollar appreciation has given the Brazilian footwear manufacturers their competitiveness back.
“As the next international Brazilian fair of the sector, FRANCAL will be the year’s best opportunity for Brazilian manufacturers to enjoy this prosper moment for exports”, says FRANCAL Chairperson Abdala Jamil Abdala.
First outcomes
According to figures disclosed by Abicalçados (Brazilian Association of the Footwear Industries), the first outcomes of the scenario deemed to be positive to exports have already begun to rise. The earnings of the sector with external sales in December, of almost 120 million dollars, were 60% higher than in November.
The entity also disclosed that the 28 Brazilian brands participating in Expo Riva Schuh at the beginning of the year with support from the Brazilian Footwear project – promoted by Abicalçados and Apex-Brasil – have traded 2.2 million dollars, more than twice the amount noticed in the edition of January 2015. Almost half (213) out of a total of 465 commercial contacts made in the event was with new clients.
