FUTURE FEMALE FASHION FORUM
Sunday, 25 July 2021, 10:30 am – 12:00 noon, Alte Schmiedehallen, Areal Böhler
Three out of every four items of clothing are purchased by women. But in the places where decisions about this clothing are made, i.e., the boardrooms of the major fashion companies, men are still very much dominating. Together with the DMI, Igedo Company has initiated a forum that brings together a host of fantastic female decision-makers and players from manufacturing, retail and universities, local tradeshows and national media to share ideas and network. The forum takes place whenever the industry meets for the ordering season in Düsseldorf. Representatives in top positions will be getting together for a public panel discussion. As the upcoming event is the first of its kind, it will focus on the needs and expectations associated with the FUTURE FEMALE FASHION FORUM. In the second part, the protagonists will be discussing the individual strategies that helped get them through the crisis and their predictions for the time afterwards.
The list of confirmed panel participants includes:
Angelika Schindler-Obenhaus, COO of Gerry Weber

Together with her guests, Dr Dominik Benner, Managing Partner of Benner Holding and Thomas Wetzlar, Managing Director of Scalerion GmbH, Igedo Company’s Managing Director Ulrike Kähler will be discussing the opportunities that lie between the poles of the online giants and the growing D2C (direct-to-customer) business of global brands and also examining ideas for a modern and successful retail sector.
GREEN IS THE NEW BLACK: DAINTY DYSTOPIA’S BOTANICAL DYE STUDIO
BOTANICAL DYE SESSIONS
Saturday, 24 July 2021, 2:00 pm & 4:00 pm, and
Sunday, 25 July 2021, 2:00 pm & 4:00 pm, Booth E25, Alte Schmiedehallen, Areal Böhler
For young label DAINTY DYSTOPIA, green is neither a colour, nor a political issue, but a central fashion statement. In its Botanical Dye Studio, everything will revolve around the finishing of sustainable natural textiles: silk, cotton and linen are dyed in bundles or printed with fresh flowers, leaves and dried dyestuffs. This expertise and passion results in individual, one-off pieces that are hand-dyed with impressive botanical compositions. DAINTY DYSTOPIA will be represented with its own booth at Gallery FASHION & Shoes for the first time and is looking forward to giving visitors valuable insights into the world of natural dyes.
SESSION #01: BUNDLE DYEING
Live from 2:00 pm
During the bundle dyeing process, dyestuffs are laid out on the textile and then rolled into a bundle and steamed. Visitors can look forward to seeing the unique patterns resulting from this unique arrangement and folding technique, not to mention one or two practical tricks and tips.
SESSION #02: COLOUR SHIFTING WITH NUANCING
Live from 4:00 pm
This session will reveal the secrets of pigment modification, the processes of which have an almost alchemistic character about them. The colours change like magic – often completely unexpectedly – under the influence of different solutions.
