“As the latest registration numbers stand, 150 participants with 350 brands will be taking part in the upcoming special edition divided over three halls at the Areal Böhler in Düsseldorf. Retailers are also looking forward to completing their product ranges at the special edition, where the focus will be purely on the orders themselves.”

Ulrike Kähler

Managing Director of Igedo Company

Plans are currently in full swing for the special-edition ‘Gallery SHOES & Fashion Industrial Showroom’, which is set to take place from 18 until 20 April 2021. The Areal Böhler in Düsseldorf will be occupied as follows: in the ‘Kaltstahlhalle’, visitors will find premium shoe brands, as well as a selection of fashion and accessories. The ‘Alte Schmiedehallen’ are reserved for contemporary, urban, comfort and kids’ shoes, as well as the matching accessories. And as usual, the ‘Halle am Wasserturm’ will be taken over by the Agentur Klauser agency, which will be showcasing over 15 fashion, shoes and accessories brands.

Brands that have already signed up to participate in the special edition of the event include Andia Fora, Brenda Zaro, Bullboxer, Bundgaard (kids), Copenhagen Kids (kids), Falc Naturino (kids), Floris van Bommel, Lazamani, Marc O’Polo Shoes, Melvin & Hamilton, Panama Jack, Primabase, Superga (exclusive sponsor for the hostesses) and Wonders.

Obligatory safety precautions

Numerous safety precautions at the Areal Böhler also include a new and very well-equipped COVID test centre in the ‘Glühofenhalle’, which can be used by exhibitors and visitors alike. “We strongly recommend everyone attending the event to make use of this offer,” says Ulrike Kähler. The required distance between the showroom spaces is at least 1.50 metres throughout. And further improvements to the ventilation system in the halls have also been made. Maximum hygiene and the regular cleaning of doors, surfaces and sanitary facilities apply as a mandatory standard. While at the venue, exhibitors and visitors are obliged to wear FFP2 or medical/surgical masks, which may not be removed on the showroom floor. Catering will only be provided in the outdoor area by two food trucks offering takeaway dishes. A café and a restaurant located on the grounds of the Areal Böhler will also offer food and drinks to go. “Providing such a service is common courtesy for us,” explains Ulrike Kähler. “It was important to me to offer some form of catering to those who are working here together for three days – all while adhering to the latest safety regulations, of course.”

Compulsory online registration

For traceability purposes, the advance online registration is a must for all visitors. Each visitor will also be asked to specify at least one showroom that they plan on visiting during their time at the Areal Böhler.

“Advance appointments between professional visitors and the participating companies are absolutely vital to ensure that we are complying with the regulatory requirements. And vice versa, we are also asking brands to contact their customers in advance to make appointments,” continues Ulrike Kähler. “This will enable us to plan and manage the visitor numbers better. Of course, at the end of the day it comes down to all of us individually to show responsibility and ensure that everyone can work safely and efficiently at the Areal Böhler.” For optimum safety, the adapted registration system provides a constant overview of the hall capacity percentage currently being utilised.

Online services

The brands that are taking part in the physical special edition will also be represented digitally in the digital Brandbox, which every registered professional visitor will have access to. This means that they will also have the chance to come into contact digitally with the showcased brands and browse their lookbooks and videos. The digital Brandbox also includes a conference area where visitors can access the virtual presentations.
