In being alert to the good time for exports, the 2016 edition of the Brazilian Summer Fair will continue with the actions to advertise the domestic footwear abroad, and attract an even greater number of international buyers.

About 900 million pairs produced, more than 8 thousand factories installed, 340 thousand jobs, exports to 150 countries, a revenue in excess of US$ 1 billion with international sales (source: The 2015 Brazilian Footwear Industry Report).

The huge figures demonstrate the greatness of the size and relevance of the Brazilian footwear industry, and rank the country as the 3rd largest worldwide producer, and the 11th largest exporter.

FRANCAL - International Shoe and Accessories Fashion Fair, now in its 48th edition from June 26 to 29 at Anhembi, São Paulo, is one of the major business generation platforms in the sector, including with the external market.

The 2015 edition received 1205 international buyers from 64 countries, who visisted the fair to buy the Brazilian shoe. From giants like Vulcabras Azaleia to smaller producers like Kidstep (from the footwear industry of Birigui/SP), passing by renowned brands Jorge Bischoff and Luiza Barcelos, exhibitors reported the strong presence of international buyers in their stands, which resulted in export agreements.

Exports

FRANCAL has been working very hard in the past few years to advertise the domestic footwear abroad, and bring more importers to the fair. For this reason, in addition to other actions, it created the Francal Export Network, which consists of potentializing the exposure of exporting exhibitors abroad and subsidise the stay of the international buyers.

“The fair played its role last year and will continue playing it, by encouraging exports without failing to look into the domestic market with the usual affection ", says Abdala Jamil Abdala, CEO of FRANCAL.

In being alert to the current macroeconomic conditions that favor Brazilian exports, to the recovery of economy of important countries buying Brazilian shoes and to gaining new markets – the United Arab Emirates, for example – in 2016 FRANCAL continues the Export Network (Rede Exporta Francal).

The project includes, among other things, the financing of lodging of importers designated by exhibitors and the advertising of the exposition brands that export in the fair's international site. These companies also receive special signalization in the Visitor's Guide and an adhesive seal in the stand, expressing its capacity as exporter.

“They are aggressive actions to attract more international buyers to our fair. In the beginning of February, we will be in the Milan Fair (theMICAM) to promote Brazilian footwear and encourage visiting importers to come do businesses in Brazil”, says Abdala.

To FRANCAL's CEO, the shoe industry is, from all manufactured products, the one with more conditions to gain - or regain - the international market. “The shoe industry has a tradition of export, and enjoys the recognition of the quality and design of its products. With the competitiveness offered by the devaluation of the real against the dollar, it is true that the resumption of exports in a faster pace will happen".
